Two-time Academy Award (R) winner Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Frost/Nixon) teams once again with two-time Academy Award (R)-nominated writer Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen) on Rush, a spectacular big-screen re-creation of the merciless and legendary 1970s Formula 1 rivalry between gifted English playboy James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth of The Avengers, Thor) and his disciplined Austrian opponent, Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl of Inglourious Basterds, The Bourne Ultimatum). Review For Rush

If you don't already know the story of that season, lucky you; even now, it exerts a ridiculous thrill.
Anthony Lane-New Yorker

Rush is an outsize Hollywood spectacle about two outsize personalities in conflict, a sleekly assembled thrill machine that makes up in excitement for what it lacks in nuance.
Dana Stevens-Slate

Rush is not a particularly deep film. But more importantly, it is not a film that mistakes itself for deep. And this self-knowledge makes Rush, in some ways, a wiser film than many that aspire to loftier goals.
Christopher Orr-The Atlantic

This is a deeply adult drama, not least because Howard shows the costs of being so driven in a sport in which a driver is encased in a potential fireball.
Lisa Kennedy-Denver Post

One thing's for sure with this film: You carry the "Rush" out of the theater.
Tom Long-Detroit News

Rush has an elemental simplicity about it. Two men in competition, driven (so to speak) to win. They are enemies. But they need each other, too, and as they roll around at 170 m.p.h., they come to understand why.
Steven Rea-Philadelphia Inquirer

Rush is Howard's most exciting, compelling, and utterly entertaining film in years, and feels like a movie made by a much, much younger filmmaker.
Erin Free-FILMINK (Australia)

Morgan knows his stuff behind the wheel, but also is smart enough to realize the more compelling drama comes off the track.
Todd Jorgenson-Cinemalogue.com

The script is another Peter Morgan special. Like, say, The Queen and Frost/Nixon, it's a speculative duet built around a moment of newsworthiness.
Wesley Morris-Grantland

One of the best films this year - or any year. Certainly the finest film about auto racing I've seen because it focuses on the human element.
Pete Hammond-Movieline

A compelling, high-octane thriller, literally and figuratively!
Kam Williams-AALBC.com

Easily Ron Howard's best film in years, Rush is a thrilling example of populist cinema at its best.
Stephen Carty-Flix Capacitor

[It's] about auto racing... but it's much more interesting in showing how two men compete with each other without losing their souls in the process.
Daniel M. Kimmel-New England Movies Weekly

There is an essential decency to all Howard's movies, and Rush is no different.
Tony Macklin-tonymacklin.net

A movie that reminds us what a great storytelling medium film can be.
John Wirt-Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA)

One of the best films of the year
Louise Keller-Urban Cinefile

A thrilling, adrenalin-fuelled ride that recreates 1970s track-side action with aplomb.
Ed Gibbs-The Sun Herald

Howard's most accomplished film to date.
Rob Vaux-Mania.com

Car culture fits quite nicely in the Ron Howard catalog, and Rush allows the filmmaker to get back to that milieu.
Matt Brunson-Creative Loafing

This is Howard's most assured film; it brims with life - and death - and he executes it with a degree of precision and confidence that mirrors the approach his characters take toward living, that of being constantly on the edge.
Charles Koplinski-Illinois Times

Howard pulls off a dramatic switcheroo in "Rush." He presents characters in competition, one a golden god, the other a repellent Ratso - and by the end, we root for Ratso.
Burl Burlingame-Honolulu Star-Advertiser

But rather than being about the cars and the game, Rush is more about the personalities that dominated Formula One racing in the 1970s.
Kevin Carr-7M Pictures

The British Hunt is Maverick to the Austrian Lauda's Iceman, the Michael to his Sonny, the id to Lauda's superego.

Review For Parental Guidance

This grating family comedy resembles a sitcom in its flat lighting, patronizing music cues, and frames supplying little visual information apart from the actors' mugging faces.
Ben Sachs-Chicago Reader

One of those intergenerational embarrassment comedies in the Meet the Fockers line, where children can enjoy seeing grown-ups looking ridiculous.
Liam Lacey-Globe and Mail

An extended "in my day" joke intended to convey the superiority of old people over a lot of supposedly contemporary behavior that doesn't actually exist in real life.
Chris Packham-Village Voice

After a while it seems to run out of jokes, maybe to make room for all the crying and hug-it-out family redemption in the last half hour.
Owen Gleiberman-Entertainment Weekly

I can't deny I did feel fonder of my own family afterward, mostly because I know none of them would ever make me sit through Parental Guidance.
Mary F. Pols-TIME Magazine

It's hard to know who exactly "Parental Guidance" was made for.
Michael O'Sullivan-Washington Post

A joyless and crude comedy that celebrates bathroom humor.
John Hanlon-Big Hollywood

The film's gags are predictable and fairly lame, but the stars' diehard fans will enjoy Crystal's snarky one-liners and, yes, Midler's singing.
Jason Best-Movie Talk

Borscht Belt humor combines with serious schmaltz to produce this gummy formulaic family comedy.
John Beifuss-Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN)

People with brains they can't turn on and off for 90 minute stretches of holiday family togetherness will be driven to take some kind of painkiller before the final credits roll. Everyone else will be fine
Dave White-IFilm

If 'Parental Guidance' is the drivel that's passing for family fare this winter, then it's best to just keep your family warm and entertained at home.
Linda Cook-Quad City Times (Davenport, IA)

... a shameless mix of obnoxious slapstick and relentless bodily-function humor that results in shots to the crotch for Crystal and blows to the brain for moviegoers.
Todd Jorgenson-Cinemalogue.com

I don't know if it's reassuring or scary that in such an American film the kids seems to be UK-style victims of both health and safety rules and political correctness at the same time.
Graham Young-Birmingham Mail

Poor Crystal. There remains a scintilla of dignity in his sad clown. He may beatbox while wearing wraparound sunglasses, but, thankfully for you and yours, he does not dance the robot.
Leah Churner-Austin Chronicle

The underlying issues make for a surprisingly relevant film.
Graham Young-Birmingham Post

A yappy pile-up of grandparents-know-best shtick, gross-out bathroom humor and sentimental claptrap.
Neil Pond-American Profile

Crystal, Midler and Tomei make a perfect combination for this funny but heartwarming family film
Jackie K. Cooper-jackiekcooper.com

A brutal comedy of bad manners ...
Philip French-Observer [UK]

Just as ghastly as it sounds.
Henry Fitzherbert-Daily Express

The family friendliest movie comedy this holiday season is also the sappiest and schmaltziest. And thanks to Billy Crystal, the shtickiest.
Roger Moore-McClatchy-Tribune News Service

A film with little else to commend it from the obvious.
Derek Malcolm-This is London

Frankly it all feels a bit obvious, perfunctory and dated.

Now thirty, Celeste is the driven owner of her own media consulting firm, Jesse is once again unemployed and in no particular rush to do anything with his life. As the reality of their separation sets in, Celeste slowly and painfully realizes she has been cavalier about their relationship, and her decision, which once seemed mature and progressive, now seems impulsive and selfish. Review For Celeste and Jesse Forever

This potentially aggravating comedy remains sweet, smart and very enjoyable.
Tom Huddleston-Time Out

The give and take here feels completely real, and each character is likable while also flawed and vulnerable.
Tom Long-Detroit News

To its credit, "Celeste and Jesse Forever" wants to be more than a formulaic farce. It succeeds to the extent that the neighbors keep up with Jones.
Joe Williams-St. Louis Post-Dispatch

A different kind of romantic comedy: one that starts at the end and tries to make sense of itself.
Moira MacDonald-Seattle Times

Tries to blend chick flick staples with bro humor but never quite gets the mix right.
Connie Ogle-Miami Herald

It's supposed to exemplify witty, edgy, indie comedy. But "Celeste and Jesse Forever" turns out to be a formula movie ...
John Anderson-Newsday

Its bittersweet conclusion hits you square in the gut.
Al Alexander-The Patriot Ledger

Thematic murkiness aside, the film achieves a mostly successful mix of mainstream and indie sensibilities.
Eric D. Snider-EricDSnider.com

Rashida Jones' first lead feature role is a likeable enough effort to step out from the tube...
Aaron Yap-Flicks.co.nz

[A] charming, lightweight comedy ...
Philip French-Observer [UK]

The film bears a kinship with the underrated 2006 film The Break-Up; both are, for lack of a better term, post-romantic comedies by exploring the largely virgin territory of what happens long after the meet-cute, when life takes hold and love goes sour.
Jim Schembri-3AW

The film shows its toothless nature when it refuses to properly eviscerate Emma Roberts's silly tweenie pop star. But there are worse crimes than being just a little bit too nice.
Donald Clarke-Irish Times

With its refusal to follow the usual romantic-comedy formula, this snappy and observant movie is a nice surprise.
Rich Cline-Contactmusic.com

Aside from the premise of two people who can't seem to separate, the storyline is nearly non-existent. All in all, rather annoying.
Alex Zane-Sun Online

Charming and not without its moments, but far too conventional to capture the complexity it strives for.
Michael Leader-Little White Lies

There are some nice moments, but it's unbearably self-conscious and nowhere does it resemble real life.
Peter Bradshaw-Guardian [UK]

The leads are engaging enough but it's too inconsequential to make you care.
Henry Fitzherbert-Daily Express

There is quiet, seditious verve to the way expectations are derailed and then re-railed, just as in those areas of real life that still exist even outside the expanding Sundance empire of middlebrow observationalism.
Nigel Andrews-Financial Times

That title doesn't lie: the romantic comedy Celeste & Jesse Forever really does feel like Celeste and Jesse, forever.
Robbie Collin-Daily Telegraph

Engaging, sharply observed and refreshingly cliché-averse relationship comedy-drama with a strong script and superb central performances ...
Matthew Turner-ViewLondon

All the wry banter and gentle soul-searching in the world can't save the audience from drifting into apathy.
Elliott Noble-Sky Movies

A flawed but intriguing take on a well-worn genre.
Rob Carnevale-The List

This is an enjoyable and breezy enough watch thanks to its appealing lead duo.
Simon Reynolds-Digital Spy

There are some funny moments and some sharp lines but it's the chemistry between the two likeable leads that makes this so undeniably sweet.
Andy Lea-Daily Star

It's not a bad set-up, but the film lets everyone talk a lot without ever having much to say.
Siobhan Synnot-Scotsman

A low-fi indie that swiftly slums into terminal feyness.

Review For Bratz: The Movie

It's derivative stuff, and played very straight despite its comical aspirations: this is Mean Girls without the irony.
Anna Smith-Time Out

With all apologies to Liza Minnelli, Bratz with a z simply goes zzzzz...
Melissa Anderson-Time Out New York

Not that I was expecting much out of a movie based on a line of dolls, but this is an amateur production that should have gone straight to basic cable.
Richard Roeper-Ebert & Roeper

A silly movie that's essentially a series of clichés strung together into a semblance of a movie.
Claudia Puig-USA Today

Bratz is a disappointment because the characters come off less as the girly superheroes they should be, and more as, well, brats.
Tony Wong-Toronto Star

Others who watch with more sense than adoration will likely be dumbfounded by the venal messages of pettiness and possession that the movie honors above all else.
Ted Fry-Seattle Times

We are regaled with the spectacle of sparky girl characters, who are aimed squarely at an impressionable tween girl audience, walking about in the sorts of high-fashion outfits you normally see on a catwalk or in the bar of a five-star hotel.
Jim Schembri-The Age (Australia)

Faced with the heroines' high-pitched shrieking, though, you'll soon be feeling enviouz of the deaf dreamboat one of them falls for.
-Total Film

When I walked out during the end credits, Voight was spying on our triumphant heroines through binoculars, making me feel even dirtier than when I sheepishly approached the box office and requested, "One for Bratz, please."
Alistair Rockoff-Willamette Week

How do our flighty young heroines fight back? By shopping, of course. There is no problem, it seems, a new tube top and mini-skirt can't fix.
Brooke Holgerson-Boston Phoenix

Sadly, the fact that it's attached to a successful toyline means it barely matters whether it's good or not.
Saxon Bullock-Film4

Bratz is a surprisingly watchable movie. It could certainly have been a lot worse.
Jennie Kermode-Eye for Film

The flashy foursome seemingly insist from the outset that they're no Barbies. Or are they.
Prairie Miller-NewsBlaze

By right Bratz should have had no potential at all. Yet it is still disappointing to see the handful of clever ideas and heartfelt themes smothered by corporate, focus-group filmmaking.
Jeffrey Westhoff-Northwest Herald (Crystal Lake, IL)

Material girls in immaterial comedy for tweens.
Charles Cassady-Common Sense Media

Lessons about friendship and tolerance in this live-action toy story are sidelined in favour of a desire to increase unit sales.
Kat Brown-Empire Magazine

A cloying, tween-oriented confection that clearly doesn't think much of its target audience.
David Schmeichel-Jam! Movies

The cast and crew bring to the project the refreshing energy, pop and fizz of a cold diet soda on a hot summer day.
Annlee Ellingson-Boxoffice Magazine

Whoever thought that "Bratz" deserved the attention of this screenplay should be spanked.

Bratz (freaky looking teen dolls for girls whose parents won't let them play with real teenagers) is now a high school movie made for people in Grade 6.

Review For The Brass Teapot

Temple and Angarano, entertaining enough, never quite sell the idea that this goodhearted couple would be so easily transformed by greed.
Sara Stewart-New York Post

Without a human dimension to ground its construct, "The Brass Teapot" ultimately feels like an interminably stretched-out skit rather than a storybook lesson stained with blood and hurt.
Robert Abele-Los Angeles Times

Ms. Mosley, who directed from a screenplay by Tim Macy, struggles to fill her debut feature with a slender notion, but the premise defeats her, even if the story operates at the outset on the pleasure principle.
Joe Morgenstern-Wall Street Journal

The Brass Teapot too often devolves into stale slapstick ...
Stephanie Zacharek-NPR

There's not much depth to Mosley's debut, which is based on a short story by Tim Macy. But Michael Angarano and Juno Temple are an appealing pair as John and Alice, struggling suburbanites.

Nick Schager-Village Voice

This oddball dark comedy might have made an amusing short film, but its one-note concept wears thin at feature length.

The screenplay falters, introducing ridiculous villains and featuring thorough lapses in logic in a blur of strained drama.
Robert Levin-amNewYork

Missing numerous layers of sickness, fearful of pushing a plot of pain on its audience, forcing them to study the complexity of unsavory desires with unlikable characters.
Brian Orndorf-Blu-ray.com

Wish-fulfillment black comedy engages through its winsome (if violent) premise and highly attractive leads, but shows some strain towards the end.
David Noh-Film Journal International

The story is set up and unfolds in a very subtle, nuanced manner that enriches each reveal.
Leland Montgomery-Paste Magazine

The Brass Teapot tries to force a moralistic, Twilight Zone-ish plot into an indie comedy, a task that proves impossible for first-time feature director Ramaa Mosley.
Josh Modell-AV Club

This dark comedy makes a few smart observations about the lengths people will go to snag the American Dream, but its satiric edge gets dulled rather quickly.
Tim Grierson-Screen International

If you happened upon "The Brass Teapot" on TV and it broke for a commercial, you'd probably change the channel.
Marshall Fine-Hollywood & Fine

Imbued with a buoyant mysticism, the film is more gag-friendly than idea-based, primarily relying on the considerable charm of its leads to ground its supernatural conceit.

Watch The Exorcism of Emily Rose Movie with Full HD Format

In this blend of psychological thriller and courtroom drama, Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter) is a 19-year-old college student who begins displaying bizarre and troubling behavior; as her actions become increasingly destructive and shocking, Emily begins speaking in strange tongues and destroying religious symbols that surround her. Emily's parents believe that their daughter has become possessed of the devil, and the Catholic Church agrees to authorize an exorcism of the young woman. As Father Moore (Tom Wilkinson) attempts to drive the demons from Emily's body, the girl dies in the midst of the taxing ceremonies, and Father Moore finds himself charged with negligent homicide. Attorney Erin Bruner (Laura Linney) is hired to represent Father Moore against prosecutor Ethan Thomas (Campbell Scott), who intends to prove there were concrete medical explanations for Emily's behaviors, including epilepsy and schizophrenia, all leading to a heated courtroom debate between the notions of faith and science. The Exorcism of Emily Rose was inspired by the real-life story of Anneliese Michel, a young woman from Germany who died in 1976 after priests in Wurzburg spent eight months attempting to exorcise demons from her body. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
